Why Teamwork Is Vital for Purposeful Work
They say that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. In truth anything that cannot adapt to the new way is set to fail. What does this mean? The old has to learn the new in order to survive.
Look at purposeful work and sustainable development. These concepts have only recently made a solid impact on the market’s consciousness but they are already vital when it comes to appealing to the modern consumer.
What this means is established companies are now having to change in order to operate in the new socially conscious market.
This is where partnerships and acquisitions come into play. This act of teaming up with new blood allows these older players access to the new playing field.
At first glance it may seem strange that we need to change how we produce and distribute our food, but the reality of the situation is the more recent factory farm method is radically different from our hunter/gatherer origins. How we access food and how we relate to food is an ever-changing concept.
The modern industrial food industry obviously has major issues that need addressing and in many cases it’s the new guys that are bringing in this change.
Let’s look at Maple Leaf Foods for example. Obviously not a new player (its roots can be traced back to the 1800s) the company knows it needs to address sustainability and is creating partnerships to better fulfill this goal.
Its sustainable branch has been named Greenleaf Foods and this arm is working with game-changers like Good Catch, helping to reimagine how we get access to protein. Given the large carbon footprint carried by the meat industry this is exactly the kind of work that needs to be done.
Partnerships like these show the amazing things new blood can bring to a company.
Acquisitions can also play an important part in a reinvention of the company.
Take Huma for example. The company started as Medopad and set out to revolutionize remote patient monitoring.
Cut to 2020 when COVID has proven the need for distance health. Luckily mobile health is already established and today’s innovators can use the technology to better serve its clients.
The company formerly known as Medipad saw this and set out to reinvent itself, absorbing new startups to gain fresh powers and perspectives.
Absorbing both Biobeats and Tarilian Laser Technologies the newly dubbed Huma is now better poised to conquer the mobile health market.
Entering into this market is a very smart move, as it’s poised to continue growing and will be worth more than $100 billion by 2025.
The full effects of COVID-19 cannot be known yet as we are still in the height of the crisis. That being said, it’s not a leap to suspect that the world of tomorrow will be different to today. This is a good thing as it means we are at a lower risk of repeating our mistakes.
Many in the business world are doing the smart thing and teaming up to better make an impact on the world. This is a beneficial move for everyone as it allows the companies to better work to their potential and us to reap the benefits of their work.
Let’s continue to support these collaborations as together these partnerships will change the world.
